Warranty Period

The warranty period is twenty-four (24) months from the date of invoice issued by Proturbo LLC or an authorized Dillo Turbo dealer. The invoice date — not the installation date — establishes the start of coverage.

A valid invoice or order number is required for any claim. Keep proof of purchase on file; without it, coverage cannot be verified.

What's Covered

This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship of the turbocharger assembly, including:

  • Center housing rotating assembly (CHRA) defects
  • Compressor and turbine wheel manufacturing defects
  • Bearing system failures not caused by oil supply issues
  • Internal oil leaks due to seal defects (when installed correctly)
  • Actuator or wastegate mechanical defects (electronic actuators on VGT/VNT units covered against manufacturing defects only)
  • Balancing defects causing vibration or premature wear

Remedy

If a unit is determined to be defective, Proturbo will, at its sole discretion, either (a) replace it with an equivalent Dillo Turbo unit, or (b) issue a credit toward a future purchase. This is the buyer's exclusive remedy under this warranty.

What's Not Covered

This warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by any of the following:

  • Foreign object damage (FOD) from debris entering the compressor or turbine
  • Oil-related failures — contamination, restricted supply, low pressure, delayed priming, incorrect oil grade, or extended oil change intervals
  • Improper installation, including missing pre-lube, reused gaskets, blocked drains, or kinked oil lines
  • Over-speeding or over-boosting from chip tuning, deleted intercoolers, modified wastegates, or aftermarket ECU changes beyond OE specification
  • Excessive exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs) from injector, fuel system, or EGR faults
  • Worn or failed related components — air filter, intercooler, charge piping, exhaust restrictions, DPF/cat blockage
  • Damage caused by shipping, dropping, or mishandling after delivery
  • Any unit that has been disassembled, modified, repaired, machined, or tampered with
  • Cosmetic wear, paint, decals, or labeling
  • Use in competition, racing, or off-label applications
  • Acts of nature, accidents, fire, flood, or vandalism

Excluded Costs

This warranty does not cover labor, removal and reinstallation, towing, vehicle rental, downtime, loss of use, loss of time, inconvenience, lost profits, or shipping charges of any kind. The buyer is responsible for all such costs in connection with a warranty claim.

First Claim — No Questions Asked

On the first warranty claim for a given account or end-user, Dillo Turbo offers an expedited, no-questions-asked replacement, provided that all of the following conditions are met:

  1. The unit is returned to Proturbo LLC and physically received by our facility
  2. The unit has not been disassembled in any way
  3. The unit has not been modified, machined, or tampered with
  4. The unit shows no damage from misuse, including damage from being dropped, shipped without adequate protection, or otherwise mishandled
  5. The claim is within the 24-month warranty window from the invoice date
  6. A valid invoice or order number is provided

What This Means

If those conditions are met, we ship a replacement without putting your customer's vehicle on hold for an inspection. We stand behind the product — period.

Note: If the returned unit is found to be disassembled, modified, or damaged due to mishandling, the first-claim policy does not apply and the unit will be processed under the standard inspection procedure (Section 06).

Subsequent Claims

Any warranty claim after the first on the same account or end-user requires a complete technical inspection before a replacement or credit is issued.

  1. Return Received The returned unit arrives at our Austin, TX facility and is logged into the warranty queue.
  2. Inspection Begins A qualified technician disassembles the unit and inspects the CHRA, wheels, bearings, seals, shaft, and housings for the failure mode.
  3. Findings Reported We document the root cause — defect, FOD, oil starvation, over-speed, contamination, installation error, etc. — and share findings with the customer.
  4. Resolution If covered, a replacement is shipped or credit is issued. If excluded, the customer is offered the option to have the unit returned or scrapped.

Turnaround

Standard inspection takes 2 to 5 business days from the day the unit is received. Complex cases or units awaiting customer-provided information may take longer.

Installation Requirements

To maintain warranty coverage, the turbocharger must be installed by a qualified technician following industry best practices, including:

  • Replacing the engine oil and oil filter with manufacturer-approved fluids
  • Inspecting and replacing the oil feed and return lines as needed; verifying unrestricted flow
  • Pre-lubricating the turbocharger before initial startup
  • Cranking the engine with fuel disabled until oil pressure is established
  • Cleaning or replacing the intercooler and charge piping to remove any residual oil or debris from the previous failure
  • Verifying the air filter and intake system are clean and sealed
  • Confirming the exhaust system, DPF/catalyst, and EGR are free of restriction
  • Allowing proper warm-up and cool-down cycles during break-in

Failure to follow these requirements may result in damage not covered under this warranty.
